China’s First Exported Flywheel Energy Storage Project by Honghui Energy – The European Southern Observatory in Chile

Honghui Energy is exporting 24 flywheel energy storage key power systems with a total capacity of 8 megawatts, which will provide stable and efficient green energy support and continuous power assurance for the European Observatory, while also reducing power peaks.

The system will function as an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), ensuring seamless switching between different power sources for observation equipment, improving overall power quality, and meeting the energy quality requirements of high-precision optical devices and ultra-precise data processing. This will assist scientists in their exploration of the universe and provide exceptional support for human deep space exploration and astronomical research.
