On March 10, the 14th China International Energy Storage Conference and Exhibition (CIES) was grandly held in Hangzhou. Beijing Honghui International Energy Technology Development Co., Ltd. Beijing Honghui International Energy Technology Development Co., Ltd. is a domestic leader in the flywheel energy storage industry with completely independent intellectual property rights. It is a national high-tech enterprise, Zhongguancun high-tech enterprise, and Beijing specialized and new enterprise. The company focuses on the research, development, production, sales, and services of high-power vacuum magnetic levitation flywheel equipment, providing customers with comprehensive solutions for energy storage, energy saving, and improving power quality. The newly released high-power long-duration flywheel energy storage product, Saturn 2 - FW50160, mainly addresses issues such as slow response speed of thermal power units, slow adjustment speed of chemical batteries, low adjustment frequency, short lifespan, and short adjustment duration of conventional flywheel energy storage systems. By reducing the mainstream grid frequency response time from minutes to milliseconds and extending the adjustment duration from 2 minutes to 15 minutes, this system breaks through the bottleneck of ultra-fast and long-duration grid frequency regulation technology, ensuring frequency stability when a high proportion of new energy is connected to the grid, accelerating the high-quality development of the new energy industry, and helping China achieve its “dual carbon” strategic goals. This system mainly addresses the instability issues caused by the large-scale grid connection of new energy generation, resolving challenges brought by its intermittency and fluctuations.
